This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal data when you use our website(s), app(s), APIs, models, and related tools (the "Service"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Quick Summary
- Content handling: We process your Inputs (e.g., code, text, files, prompts) and return Outputs to operate the Service. We store Content in your project until you delete it.
- Model training: Knowfun does not use Content for training.
- Telemetry & analytics: We collect limited usage, performance, and security data to run and improve the Service.
- Sharing: We use service providers (hosting, payments, security, support).
- No sale of personal data.
2. Scope & Roles
We act as a controller for account, billing, and analytics data. For project Content, we act as processor depending on product configuration and contractual terms (e.g., enterprise DPA).
3. Data We Collect
A. Account & Billing Data. Name, email, account identifiers, team/org info, subscription plan, and payment details (processed by Paddle under their terms).
B. Service Usage & Device Data. IP address, device/OS/browser, app version, event timestamps, performance metrics, crash logs, referrers, general geolocation (derived from IP).
C. Project Content ("Content"). Inputs (e.g., code, files, prompts) and Outputs generated by the Service.
D. Communications. Support tickets, feedback, survey responses.
E. Integrations. If you connect third-party tools, we receive data necessary to enable the integration per their settings.
4. How We Use Data & Legal Bases (GDPR/UK-GDPR)
We process personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:
- Service delivery: To provide, operate, and maintain the Service (contractual necessity, legitimate interest).
- Account management: To manage your account, billing, and subscriptions (contractual necessity).
- Security & fraud prevention: To protect the Service and users (legitimate interest, legal obligation).
- Improvement & analytics: To analyze usage patterns and improve the Service (legitimate interest).
- Communications: To send service updates and marketing (with consent where required).
- Legal compliance: To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
5. Content Handling & Model Training
- Processing of Content. We process Content to deliver Outputs and related features (e.g., context windows, retrieval, caching, and quality checks).
- Retention of Content. We store Content in your account until you delete it.
- Training on Content. Knowfun does not use Content to train models.
6. Sharing & Disclosures
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers/processors: hosting, storage, logging, security, payments, support, and analytics under confidentiality and data-protection commitments.
- Legal/compliance: when required by law, to protect rights, safety, and integrity.
- Corporate transactions: merger, acquisition, reorganization (with appropriate safeguards).
We do not sell personal data.
7. Retention
- Content: stored until you delete it.
- Account & billing: retained for the life of the account.
- Security logs & telemetry: retained 30 days.
- We'll delete or de-identify data once it's no longer needed for the stated purposes or legal obligations.
8. Security
We employ technical and organizational measures appropriate to risk, including access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege practices, monitoring, and periodic testing.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability; you may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and you may opt out of marketing anytime.

10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under local age of digital consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use necessary cookies and, where required, analytics/performance cookies.
12. Third-Party Links & Services
Third-party sites and integrations are governed by their own policies. Review their terms and privacy notices before enabling integrations.
13. Data Processing Addendum (DPA) & Enterprise Terms
For enterprise customers, our DPA sets out data-protection commitments (minimization, access controls, security, subprocessors).
14. Changes to This Policy
We'll post updates here and revise the Effective date. For material changes, we'll provide reasonable notice via email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
